“We all sit in the circle and suppose- while the secret sits in the circle and knows”

Puerto Rico

December 9 2003 I packed my thrift shop clothes, very little money and no credit card and headed for Puerto Rico as special guest of the Alliance for the New Humanity. After a stopover in San Francisco and a few hours in Chicago, I arrived at San Juan to be met by Deepak Chopra’s sister Caroline. As we walked to a car outside the airport a gentleman was hurrying across the road and somehow I knew it was Arsenio even though we had never met nor had I seen a photo of him. It’s a great feeling when someone turns out to be exactly as you imagine. Arsenio I knew had worked very hard to pull together this large event which would have about 600 people from all parts of the world attending. We have a long hug and then he headed back off to continue his work.

The launch started with a Gala Ball, followed by a formal day, before dividing into discussion panels. There were some large gatherings during the day and concerts at night, amazing entertainment and wonderful local food. There were lots of positive vibes in every room and many new friendships formed.

A highlight for me was the opening statement by Al Gore. His presentation was both frightening and inspiring. He pointed out what needed to be done for the survival of the planet, something about which he is both passionate and knowledgeable. Everyone present believed this man should rightfully be the President – and wondered where the world would be now if he was?

This played on my mind over the next few days, until I came to the conclusion that we needed President Bush decisions on Iraq.

I now think we must all thank Bush for waking the world to the fact that no matter which side you are on – you know in your heart something is very wrong with preempting – we learnt we as individuals need to do more. Lots of wonderful things are happening because of Bush; this Alliance came into being because of Bush. So I say thank you Mr Bush!

Friendships were formed and where they were to lead, would unfold like the Journey to Wild Divine.
