Hands of Peace Updates

How it all began you can follow HOPEand see where it is now

On the 18 March 2003 on the 18th August, I flew out to Taiwan, chosen to be the first overseas country the hOPE project visited. I was invited by the Joy Children's Culutral and Educational Foundation.

Project of HOPE
Kerry Bowden and Maureen Cedric

it was in a word WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

It taught me so much.

The reaction was so positive from the children, teachers, staff who all loved the
concept of the project

The first HOPE handprint belongs to Selma David from Djarragun College

The local Win TV crew covered story in last nights news and reporter was wrapped in the idea and concept. The Cairns Post will be running a feature story about myself, HOPE projects and the Global Children's Alliance. As The Cairns Post donated the paper used for the first prints this will be very fitting indeed.

The project will be launched Nationally and Internationally very soon.

What it showed me was - it's simplicity is the key to it's success, children all ages loved to put their hands on this paper like it was their statement and right too.

If I had asked the children to write about how they felt about Peace, or paint a picture about how they feel about Peace, they would of had to think about it.

This way they didn't think - they just knew and their handprint was their signature on a document which in years to come will be as important or maybe even more important then documents signed by leaders around the world in regards to peace. It also gave them HOPEand time to think about Peace instead of war.

The Global Children's Alliance

Has begun where it should with the children with one of the oldest culture in the world.

We have been hearing from so many people from different countries around the world who will take part in the Hand of Peace Exchange and also wanting to be part of the Hands of Peace Exhibition when I start travelling overseas.

Keep checking in here to keep up with this inspiring project
which is giving children of the world. HOPE
