The day the Joy Family made their promise to Caitlin and the children of the world

In Taiwan, on the 30th August 2003 at the Taipei Children's Recreation Center, I got to stand up on a stage and ask the most important question, I will ever ask on behalf of Caitlin Jean and the Children of the World.

Below is what I said and then asked, 99 selected families and VIP'S including

Dr Gary Song-Huann LIN, Director -General Department of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Jung-Tai Cho, Legislator, Director Department of Social Development.

Sam Chen President of the Joy Children's Cultural and Educational Foundation and his wife and CEO Peggy Huang and daughter Ester representing the Joy Family, my own Mum Jo and brother Gary included in this family

The Question

"In the short time I have been in Taiwan as the guest of the Joy Children's Cultural and Education Foundation, I am filled with HOPE that my promise to my granddaughter Caitlin Jean - of a better world for her and all children, by the year 2015 - is very possible"

"We must become Guardians of the Vision and Hope of each and every child."

"I only have one thing to ask you?"

"Will you become - One Mind One Voice

A Family of Humanity?"

To which they replied

Loud enough for Caitlin and the world to hear.

I say thank you to the Joy Children's Cultural and Educational Foundation and to the 99 selected families in Taiwan.

I will now ask that same question, everywhere I go around the world.

Together on the 30th August those three simple words of "YES WE DO" fill my heart with so much joy and HOPE that
I will keep that promise to Caitlin and all children by the year 2015.
