This being, that becomes.
From the arising of this, that arises.
This not being, that does not become.
From the ceasing of this, that ceases.

Moment of Dawn
10/1/2005

Have you ever wondered when is the Moment of Dawn? When does it really begin?

The dawn has always been very special to me, its my favorite time of the day. It’s the time I wake and my soul is at peace, ready for the surprises and joy of the day ahead. I have always been a morning person.

So there could be no better time for me to plan a very important event involving women around the world. An event I had thought would be held in Gordonvale in far north Queensland, but like many things in my life they seem to have their own journey to take and a time to be. I will tell you more about this event in the next few weeks as we gather the women. It is what happened while looking for some information early this morning, I want to share with you.

As I added a few more very special promises to the website. I came across a little story just over 100 words. I would have collected it a few years ago and saved it to file. I have never used it until now. Nor had I come across it until this morning when - it was meant to be found.

I find that happening a lot lately as the dawn of The Promise Club unfolds. I am finding many things collected while on my five year journey of learning are tucked away in a safe place simple waiting to be, when the timing is right, they will let me know. Or in the case of the many wonderful people I have collected, I sometimses let them know if I need their help, like Phillip in Taiwan and they respond, if their time and journey is in time with mine.

When I read this little story years ago, I thought it was very wise. When I read it again this morning I knew it was very wise and better then anything I could write for this newsletter so I will let the Rabbi speak to all of us.

The Moment of Dawn

A Rabbi gathered together his students and asked them:
“How do we know the exact moment when night ends and day begins? “It’s when standing some way away, you can tell a sheep from a dog” one boy said. The Rabbi was not content with that answer, so another boy said. “No, It’s when standing some way away, you can tell a olive tree from a fig tree” “No, that is not a good definition either”. Well, what is the right answer said the boy. And the Rabbi said.
“When a stranger approaches and we think it is our brother, that is when night ends and day begins.

Have a good week, I will as I continue to add Promises like the one from my very special friend Joaquin in Peru, I have a lot of work ahead of me to be ready before the promises start arriving in large numbers - a data base. Thanks to Phillip in Taiwan, I now have somewhere for people to write their promises and send on to us.
