Rehearsal
Ten little children in red Joy HOPE T-shirts
Denim long shorts, bandanna's tied around their heads
Turn now and face me as they run
Through their rehearsal for later in the day
Each with their own mike and battery pack
Hidden behind their backs
After the greeting, the first words I hear
"Across the world, across the net"
Caitlin, you are too young to understand
How important are these words
What we share with the world today
Ten little Taiwanese children
Not that much older then you
Will dance and sing and invite
Many up to share the stage
Together we will sing to the world
All we are saying is "Give Peace a Chance"
I'm so glad I made that promise
To you and the children of the world
They are indeed the future
Now rehearsing here in front of me
