Are you a woman or caring man, who would like to take part in a very powerful global event aimed at showing solidarity to mothers around the world? Mothers who's children are suffering and dying every day from mankind's inhumanity?

If so then read the information below.

Watch Kerry as she start the wailing

I knew for awhile, I would recite   The Wailing   poem for the first time, at dawn on a beach on the Sunshine Coast, in Queensland, Australia. I had been planning to do this in Sydney, but to get wireless internet to that site was not possible and I also realised that this is too personal for me to do the first time in the present of lots of people.

As a poet I have writen many poems, what I don't do often is recite them. I was determined that if this was to be filmed, then there would only be one go at it and if I stuffed it up, you the viewing public would see this.

I am pleased to say that this event was filmed by, Scot McPhee from Mango-a-GoGo Productions Pty Ltd Brisbane, Queensland. Someone I feel very comfortable with. Scot has been working for a few years now on a documentary about my work and promise to Caitlin and the children of the world.

When we arrived at the beach well before dawn, I had no idea how I would wail. So while Scot got his camera ready, I sat on a rock and as I looked out to sea, so many faces of children and their mothers appeared in the clouds and reflections - children who were dying, while I simply waited for the moment of dawn.

As you watch the footage, know I did stuff up a few of the lines of the poem, but I would rather that, then doing a second planned take, which would have changed the mood and emotions I was feeling.

We will all wail in our own way, out loud, or simply in silence, some will meditate, others will pray, it is not for me to tell anyone of you how to wail, while we are all connected, it is still our own personal journey. I do know I will be wailing each day with so many others who are now   registering    to wail on a particular day.

Today many around the world will be wailing with me, including Caitlin in Ireland, Becky and her friends in Ghana, and Sarah Ozacky-Lazar, Israel who will wail in Rome. Tomorrow Leo and Lucy wil wail in St Petersburg Russia, Hileria in Victoria will pray on Fridays. Jessy in England will wail in her garden on Saturday. Rose Lord will wail in Pennsyvania USA on Sunday. While on Monday Dana and her sister will wail in Sydney, Mama Donna Henes will wail in New York on Tuesday, then its on to Canada where Marjorie will continue the wailing in Ontario, at the same time Sarah Ozacky-Lazar, will wail at Ramot Menashe, Israel on her birthday and so on and so on

As the sound of wailing reverbrates around the world
Let us hope those causing the pain will hear
And know - we mothers will suffer this no more..

We must all work to make it a better world for all children and maybe the answer is simply to start with ourselves, becoming better people, so then will the world we live in begin to heal and be better…

Each week I will add photos and information about the wailing as it continues around the world

In the next week I will have another film on the website, this one will be footage of the sunrise with my voice over of the poem. This along with a signed poster of the poem will be available for sale. The film you may like to use for your wailing or simply for meditation, the poster you might like to hang in your home or office, not to make you sad, but to remind you each day, to do whatever you can to make it a better world for all children by the year 2015… my promiseand all the others I will continue to gather from around the world.

One thing I do know is that together, nothing is impossible.

You can read   The Wailing  poem and if you would like to take part in this event then simply  register your name   for one or more of the days on the    Wailing Calendar   and then pass this information on to every women you know.

What I know in my soul is that this event is being started, as a global event, that will let mothers who are in great pain around the world, know they are never alone, that somewhere on each day of the year, from the 8th March 2006   International Women's Day

another mother, women, or caring male has taken up her wailing.

This will be an eternal flame of solidarity, a warn blanket we place around the shouldres of these women in so much pain from mankinds inhumanity.

Please also remember this is also a time after we wail, to reflect and work out - how each of us can make it a better world for all children, even in the smallest way, by simply saving water, picking up rubbish, to larger projects and protests, writing letters, volunteering, praying, walking more then taking the car, we each have things we can do to make this a better world, it is for each of us to decide, it is not for me to tell you how or what to do.....taking this time to listen to your own soul..... you will know what you can do

I am very proud to have 100% support of     Codepink: Women for Peace    Women Say No To War    a wonderful global organisation working to make it a better world. As well as Women in Black. I would also like to mention the support The Wailing now has from Stacy at   Indymedia Sydney   Lindsay Bock from Noosa Journal and Jane at the Sydney office of    FCm Travel Solutions Australia   believe me it all helps.

Yes of course caring men are invited to be part of this event, as is every one regardless of age, gender, faith, country or culture, who wishes to be part of The Wailing. Granma Kerry knows it will take ALL OF US TOGETHER to make it a better world for all children by the year 2015.
